Waste Heat Boiler

The regenerative use of waste heat describes the conversion of process-related energy losses into reusable forms of energy such as steam or hot water. The technical solutions for converting it into usable forms of energy are just as varied as the sources of waste heat generation. Some applications for waste heat boilers – such as in the chemical process engineering – often entail pure process cooling.

Depending on the type and nature of the waste heat or useful heat flow as well as the form of heat energy demand, we can provide you with the right boiler solution for every need. For this special product category, a customised boiler solution can generally be assumed. Only in rare cases is this delivered in multiple quantities.
Depending on the application, flue tube waste heat boilers, water tube waste heat boilers, or a combination of both boiler designs are used.
For us, a special area of waste heat utilisation is the conversion of particle-laden flue gas flows into useful energy. For these applications, we supply flue tube waste heat boilers with surface-structured tubes (ERK-Tube). These have a greatly reduced tendency to soiling and achieve a heat transfer that is improved by a factor of 2. The latter effect also results in a much more compact boiler than a design with normal smooth tubes.
